The UK is home to some of the world's best golf courses and its most indulgent golf break destinations.
If you are a golf enthusiast, with a vacation that completely immerses you in sport to be one of the most relaxing things to do ever. But most golf breaks means much more than just swing your clubs 24 hours a day. They also offers superb luxury accommodation, world-class cuisine and sometimes tranquil spa facilities that help you mitigate these muscles after a long day at the track.
Years the boom of the late 1990s and 2000s to many Britons headed to overseas destinations are Spain, Portugal and Florida to enjoy extravagant golf breaks. In the current period of austerity, it is not surprising that the same people trying to register for golf vacation locations in the home. Golf breaks in the UK, however, is far from being a step down in comparison with its European and North American cousins. Golf break in England and Scotland
Most of the UK's premier golf break destinations can be found in England and Scotland. And Bennington's popularity as a break this weekend and shopping for wealthy footballers and their wives had a knock-on effect on the profile of its fantastic golf courses.
Golf breaks in Wales and Northern Ireland
South Wales is also home to several coveted destinations for golf breaks. Celtic Manor in Gwent, for example, has been heralded as one of Britain's best destinations for golf and spa breaks. The Welsh capital Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan also boasts its fair share of luxury golf destinations, into the middle of awe-inspiring natural scenery.
And while Northern Ireland may seem more difficult to reach because it is not in the mainland United Kingdom, its world class golf courses make the trip flight or ferry well worth the effort. Its two main highlights are the Royal County down Golf Club and Royal Portrush Golf Club, which is the only way outside the United Kingdom will have hosted the Open Championship.
