Nintendo. The name is both great and terrible for me. It is great when I have had a lot of fun with their consoles and games over the years. Game Boy, Super Nintendo, N64, Gamecube, DS, Wii and 3DS just to name a few. But it is terrible because they are Sega and Sonic the Hedgehog enemy. I have always been and always will be, a Sega fan first. In the 90s I had a Genesis and a GameGear and that was all I needed. But when the time is past, and Sega and Nintendo became friends, I realized how games Nintendo consoles and games really are. I have loved the Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario World and new Super Mario Bros, Sonic colors, Super Smash Bros and more TV games on Nintendo consoles.
Nintendo is the longest running and most powerful game maker ever. Sony and Microsoft are absolutely successes and giants and from the gaming world, but Nintendo has the longest track record. They survived the crash great video game, and they survived Sega. If they could survive that, they can survive anything. Sony has the highest sold individual console ever on 150 million for the Playstation 2, Nintendo has sold more overall consoles than other game maker ever. No one comes close to Nintendo in this respect. Highest-selling video game franchise belongs to Nintendo, with Mario sellilng 240 million games to date. Pokemon has sold 215 million units, Wii sports at 102 million and various others. Nintendo has 3 of top 10 gaming franchises throughout the world based on sales. They are really a dominator of the gaming world.
What Nintendo is doing the right. Wii is a console that is really weak by comparison to the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, but it has reached a mass market for casual game players who have not given a chance before video games. The only problem with Nintendo is really that they have far too many shovelware game, if the game is very stupid and have no point to them at any time. They are created only fills the space at Wal-Mart shelf basically. Nintendo is absolutely rich with epic fail/foolish games. But in addition to Nintendo do everything correctly and they have created lots of fun and creative games over the years. Hopefully continues with console project Cafe who was communicated officially soon, and the new Nintendo 3DS.
