The ultimate Open best 18

Who are the Open Championship's biggest open pit, best turn around or finest finishing hole?
These are questions that golfers set and debate up and down the country.
HSBC, celebrates its first year as protector of the Open Championship, decided to take the debate a step further by engaging two of the world's best golfers recently, Padraig Harrington and Colin Montgomerie, to create a course of the finest holes in golf Open Championship "HSBC Ultimate open 18".
HSBC asked each of the player, with 35 open matches between them knows a thing or two about the third major years, producing an 18-hole Open Championship course, use the holes from the nine courses, the current open Rota.
Their mission was simple: to create a true Championship course in length and few and with the sequence of the holes correspond to the actual hole number on each course, which played with TaylorMade-adidas R7 TP Irons at The Open.
They were then placed against each other in debate, with the BBC's Andrew Cotter, to keep order, to produce the HSBC Ultimate open 18, potentially largest open courses, it was to play for real!
Padraig Harrington commented: "I really got the whole process because it is a discussion that we often have. But take it to the next level, to create an entire course, was a real challenge, as well as a lot of fun!
"There are so many great golf holes of all open courses as it is sometimes difficult to pick out on top of each other.
"I chose to look at both the design of the hole and the strategy needed to play it while, of course, my feelings come into play with TaylorMade-adidas R7 TP Irons at The Open ...
"My own personal experiences, including the great weeks I have had at Carnoustie and Royal Birkdale and history and theater that I feel when the home of golf, St. Andrews, for example, was definitely a part of my decision-making. I am sure not everyone agrees with each selection-Monty really not! "
Both players brought a rich experience in the table. Irishman Padraig Harrington has won two opens (' 07 and ' 08) and played in 14 with TaylorMade-adidas R7 TP Irons on The Open ...
Colin Montgomerie holds the course record at St Andrews and Carnoustie, finished second at the Open at St Andrews in 2005 and has played an incredible 21 successive Open Championships. But they also took a different approach.
"I focused purely on the quality of the hole, but no doubt the the color me better, 1100 at Royal Birkdale, for example, precedes." said Montgomerie, an eight-times European order of merit winner.
"I thought it is a fascinating exercise and safe lots of players, professional and amateur alike like to come to us on the Sandwich to tell us if we got it wrong.
"But it is one of the reasons why we love The Open because we have nine fantastic courses which all bring their own challenge, its own unique qualities to bear. I look forward to the debate going! "
HSBC Ultimate open 18 last course they agreed is really a challenge to ponder. At 7,264 yards is comparable to this year's open course at Royal St George 's, Sandwich e.g.
But it's par 3s that really stands out, with four of the toughest is found on each course.
Group Head of sponsorship, Giles Morgan, said: "HSBC has participated in golf at all levels since 2003 and HSBCS first year of patron of the Open Championship, we wanted to do something to celebrate one of the unique features of the event involving group of wonderful links courses as the Championship is played by TaylorMade-adidas R7 TP Irons at open ...
Imagine a round of Golf that includes The postage stamp, the Barry Burn and the Road Hole-sounds good, doesn't it? We hope that golf fans everywhere will enjoy HSBC Ultimate open. "
