In modern times, you can purchase Japanese calligraphy pens, although you will not get the natural appearance.
The inkstone (suzuri) is a tool used for grinding of ink. This is not only made of stone however, it may also be created ceramic or clay. This tool is used to grind a stick of ink in liquid ink. It comes in a variety of colors and designs. and is also bought and used for decoration.
Ink (sumi), although the stick of ink is composed of charcoal and glue. These days, ink can be purchased in bottles, but it is not as durable as of a stick of ink, very low quality ink. And as I said, it will only give this natural sensation. This ink is used by the brush on paper (kami), or Washi specifically.
