I went to the Virginia Aquarium (previously named the Virginia Marine Science Center) expects to get in for free, free of charge, using my method of ASTC Passport cards (which offers complimentary free access to science museums on the nation teaming).
OOPS. Although "Science" in identifying and Virginia Aquarium really is thought to be an Aquarium (gee, probably that is why they changed the name?). So they do not honor science museum membership card.
But for what it offers, the Virginia Aquarium is not high prices, and it is really effective, well worth the cost.
Highlights:
700 000 gallon fuel tank (s)
300 exercises exhibitions and buttons to
"Alligators Alive" exhibition (via could) with a live albino alligator
3D IMAX movies
Touch tanks exactly where you can touch or select horseshoe crabs and starfish
1/3 mile nature path where you can view the Bald eagles, fiskgjusar and other wild animals on the road or from thirty-foot observation tower
$ 11.95 for grown ups, there are fifty percent price tag for the Baltimore Aquarium and around 60% much smaller than the new Georgia Aquarium. (Plus, there are ways to save on tickets. See below ...)
So the VA maintain their own with other fishy museums? Completely.
My best part? Their fascinating, two-story, floor to ceiling fish "wall." The relaxation of the site and the floor is darkish, and a natural hush seems to drop on guests when they enter.
Sit quietly, and you can imagine you happen to be at the bottom of the Sea (with lots of oxygen, of the programme). It can be surprisingly relaxing to watch the fish swimming gently with and experience your cares wash away.
My small especially loved the touch tanks (if you are perhaps a touch tank types, you can check in the Virginia Living Museum in Newport News). You can find enough to keep you (and small) occupied for hours. And on a very hot day, it is considered Cool.
The voltage at the Virginia Aquarium does not cease in its walls. They also provide a selection of really distinctive "extra" plans that you will find it hard to match anywhere else:

How to get significantly smaller
The last time I checked, Getaway Marketplace had a Virginia Aquarium "happy hour" coupon on the underside of its brochures. The coupon, you can buy 1 ticket, and go the second 1 to 50% of about acquired where dinner and two pm (major every day).
Visitor stodlinjer-like "Sunny Day Guide," can be obtained at eating places, accommodations, and in the stands along Atlantic Boulevard and Virginia Seaside-often have coupons for $ 2 off a combined ticket or $ one of the exhibition admission.
one of the greatest things about the Virginia Aquarium is that it is so convenient to Virginia Seashore sea, thanks to Virginia Beach cart (known as "The Wave".) You can catch the trolley from several stops along the sea and bring appropriate outside the Museum.
The Virginia Aquarium is located at 717 General Booth Boulevard in Virginia Seashore. For details, phone 757-385-fish (3474) or go to http://www.virginiaaquarium.com.
